Concerning Donations:
Often, in today's social matrix, donations come in the form of currency. It is disbursed used, and written off speedily. While Generations! appreciates and happily puts to work this form of donation, we can better use support in other forms.
*We are always accepting and in need of books of any kind. However, at this time, we are primarily geared toward the organization and distribution of leisure books.
*Nursing homes are often at a loss for bookshelves due to the perpindicular lack of books in such establishments. As we succeed in our mission to provide residents of such facilities with reading material, we must also work toward providing shelves.
* Time is, as always, of the essence. In this case, it is the essence of what Generations! stands for. Residents appreciate volunteers who spend time with them. We appreciate volunteers that spend time labeling and helping to transport books. Much of the work involved in coordinating events in a nursing home is the contemplation of how to engage a maximum quantity of occupants in a pleasant way to pass the time.
*Of course, as Generations! expands in response to need, we require everyday essentials such as blankets, toothbrushes, combs, lotions, tea, healthy snacks, and comfortable clothes to distribute to those residents of nursing home facilities which require them.

If you wish to start a local chapter of Generations!, we ask that you contact us for our guidelines and a more intimate sharing of our core values. Any and every contribution to the cause is greatly needed and appreciated.
